There are Other Colors than Navy

There is nothing wrong with Navy exactly, I mean, sure it goes with everything, but that's kinda the issue. It goes with everything and every fucking body, like everyone.

Remember when you were 5 and you loved those light-up Sketchers, or the Jordans with like 6 different colors?! Well, that was before you were sold on the idea that you could only wear navy. Now there's nothing wrong with Navy if you like it — but that's the thing. It's not navy that you like, you like the dependability and the flexibility.

That's not style.

Anyways, hear me out: You are currently in a state where you allow Zara's many different drops of the week to decide what you wear, which leads to buying the same thing in a different font every other week. I am not knocking your style, just giving an understanding of where you are at the moment.

It’s time you understand that color is your friend. It can even make you look better, because to be honest, unless you have deep skin, dark features, or blue eyes, navy is doing absolutely NOTHING for you.

I want you to go start with Pinterest — knowing you likely don't have an account… MAKE ONE. Type in whatever skin tone you are, the season, and outfits with color. For example: "Black guy summer outfits with color." The goal isn't to make your Pinterest racist! But our complexion is very crucial in deciding what colors look good on us — deeper hues and warmer tones work on olive and deeper skin tones, and lighter colors and pastels on those who are fairer skinned.

Easing in.

To start exploring color, it's best to start with something still within your comfort zone, something that is safe. So if you like black and white, try adding stone, ecru, silver tones, or light blues to your wardrobe. And if you refuse to put the navy down, try a cobalt or an agave blue — especially if you have olive or brown skin.

Because t-shirts are simple and can be swapped out, start with buying t-shirts that have color. AND NO FUCKING LOGOS.
